...of 1972 the
organization of the United Nations declared this date like Worldwide Day of the Human
environment, attending to the outputs of the Worldwide Conference celebrated in Estocolmo.
Speaking of the deterioration of the environment it is a common topic, degenerated
with the declarations that little has to do with the practical outputs. In spite of
everything, the conscience for the grave problems that affect to the planet has grown
starting from the second half of the XX century, although the solutions seem distant.
The matter began to expound with seriousness after the Second World War, when in 1948 the
first International Union for the Conservation of the Nature was constituted, a private
organism that preceded all intergovernmental agreement .
Newly in 1968 was carried out, in Paris, the first official meeting in order to speak
about the topic, in which one there were present the United Nations and other organisms of
international character. In 1972 in Estocolmo were met 113 nations representatives with
the idea of developing an action plan in order to protect the worldwide environment. A
consequence of that meeting was the consecration of the Worldwide Day of the Human
environment, an anniversary reminder that could not stop the vanishing of an hectare of
tropical forests every two seconds, the unemployed of millions of hectares of fertile
earth per year because of the erosion, the contamination of underground and sea waters and
the extinguishment of hundred of animals and vegetables species .
The human beings right to a healthful environment is the synthesis of all the rights:
includes the right to a level of adequate life, to the feeding, to the housing, to the
health and to the education. |
